Demon of country liquor overflowed on 24, Rojid village turned into a cremation ground, cremation performed on the ground with missing beds, main accused Jayesh Khawadia arrested
24 people have died due to consumption of poisoned liquor in Rojid village of Barwala in Botad district. More than 30 people have been admitted to the hospital. Some of them are found to be in serious condition. This incident which shocked Gujarat took place on Monday. Jayesh, the main accused of the Lattha scandal, has been arrested from Pipalj. The accused had provided 600 liters of chemical. Methanol was procured from AMOS Chemical Company. A team of ATS, Crime Branch has reached the company.
The entire village was filled with the cries of women and children in the surrounding villages including Rojid. Since early morning today, the funeral procession of 5 dead bodies is leaving together in a tractor. The number of people who have died due to toxic alcohol has reached 24 since yesterday evening. Out of which 15 people are residents of Barwala and 9 people have been found to be residents of Dhandhuka. Now, a police convoy including ATS rushed to Rojid village since late night. Divyabhaskar has also reached Rojid village. At present Barwala police have registered a case against 14 bootleggers. All the accused got together and filed a crime of causing death of people by intentionally mixing chemicals in alcohol. Barwala PSI has filed a complaint against bootleggers from villages including Rojid, Chokdi, Nabhoi, Dhandhuka, Ranpari, Vaiya and Polarpur.
A funeral procession of 5-5 dead bodies took place together
So far, 24 people have been killed in the Lattakand in which the death toll has reached 9 in Rojid village. Preparations for the funeral of the dead are going on in Rojid village since early morning. The final journey of 5 people has taken place together in the village. As there are only two pyres in the village crematorium, some are being cremated on the ground. On the other hand, tight police arrangements have been made during the funeral procession. At present, not only the families of the deceased but also the villagers are feeling grief in the village.
At present, some patients were admitted in Bhavnagar's Sir T Hospital and some at Botad for treatment in critical condition. Following this incident, the police immediately arrested the liquor makers and sellers. However, following this entire incident, SIT (Special Investigation Team) has been formed under the chairmanship of DYSP, which will investigate and submit a report to the government.
ચોકડી ગામેથી દેશી દારૂ પીધો હોવાનું પ્રાથમિક તપાસમાં સામે આવ્યું
પ્રાપ્ત માહિતી અનુસાર તમામ લોકોએ ચોકડી ગામેથી દેશી દારૂ પીધો હોવાનું પ્રાથમિક તપાસમાં સામે આવ્યું હતુ. ભાવનગર સિવાય કેટલાકને બોટાદની હોસ્પિટલમાં પણ દાખલ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. બીજી તરફ બોટાદ એસપી-ડીવાયએસપી સહિતનો કાફલો સ્થળ પર પહોંચ્યો હતો. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે અગાઉ રોજિદના ગ્રામજનોએ ગામમાં દારૂબંધી કરાવવા માટે પંચાયતને પત્ર લખી રજૂઆત પણ કરી હતી.

Chemical supplied from Ahmedabad, Lath made in Barwala chowkdi, sold in 3 villages including Rojid
According to ATS sources, the chemical was supplied from Ahmedabad. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a person named Pintu prepared the lath from the chemical supplied at Chokdi village of Barwala. Then these sticks were supplied to villages including Rojid, Chandarwa, Devjna of Barwala and Akru and Ushdi of Ahmedabad rural. On the other hand, the ATS is still investigating from the chemical supply to the manufacture of the sticks and to which bootleggers the sticks were sold. The State Monitoring Cell and Ahmedabad Crime Branch have also been ordered to investigate the racket. The state government has also issued orders to conduct raids on country liquor outlets across the state from Tuesday.
Liquor was produced and sold from Chokdi village
It is to be noted that liquor was made and sold from Chokdi village. As a result, a large convoy including the police arrived at Chokdi village of Barwala taluka for investigation. A large contingent including Botad SP Karanraj Vaghela, Ahmedabad SOG, DySP, Prant Mamlatdar, arrived for the investigation. An operation has been carried out to collect information about who is involved in the distribution and manufacture of liquor in Chokdi village. Apart from this, the leaders and locals have been investigated and questioned in Chokdi village to see if anyone has consumed alcohol. Also, locals have been informed to take such treatment if anyone is affected.
