Rain warning in Gujarat: The Meteorological Center has predicted scattered rain with strong winds for the next three hours.  According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar and Junagadh will witness moderate to heavy rains with 41-61 kmph winds during this period.


Rain in Gujarat, Gir Somnath, Diu, Surendranagar, Botad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Morbi, Surat, Chota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Daman, and Dadar Nagar in next three hours.  Haveli will see moderate rain.  Scattered rain is also forecast in Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Dahod, Kheda, Anand and Vadodara.


The IMD has said that while the heat may ease in the coming days, there is no heat wave in most of the states.  Meanwhile, some parts of Delhi-NCR received rain on Thursday morning (June 27, 2024).


For the next 3-4 days, heavy to very heavy rain is predicted over the western peninsular coast including Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka.  Northeast Indian states including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim are also likely to receive heavy rainfall between June 27 and June 30.


Rains in Gujarat: From June 28 to 30, heavy to very heavy rains are likely at many places in North West India, including West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.  East Uttar Pradesh has been warned of heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy (115.5-204.4 mm) rainfall especially on 27 and 28 June.  Monsoon is progressing slowly.


According to Mahesh Palawat of Skymet Weather Services, the monsoon is expected to reach Delhi on June 29 or 30, which usually arrives between June 27 and 29.  The Meteorological Department has also predicted that Monsoon will reach Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand.  Bihar, Rajasthan and East and West Uttar Pradesh in the next three to four days.
