Rain forecast: Scorching heat is being felt in many states of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast rain with thunderstorms and lightning in many parts of the country till March 26. The Meteorological Department has also forecast light rain and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Talking about the hot and humid weather, the IMD said, it is likely to continue over Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahe, Saurashtra and Kutch during the next 4 days while over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next two days.
Rain forecast for March 23 to 26
The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers with possibility of scattered thundershowers over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from March 23 to March 26. Apart from this, orange alert of heavy rain has been announced in Assam and Meghalaya on March 23 and March 25.

In Tamil Nadu, the IMD has predicted that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain at one or two places in South Tamil Nadu. While in Karnataka, the IMD has predicted light rain at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Rain forecast: The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of scattered light rain in Punjab and Haryana on March 24. IMD has forecast light rain with possibility of thunderstorm, snowfall and lightning at isolated places over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand from March 23 to 24.
